It's been awhile since I have blogged but i wanted to tell you all about my trip to Paris over the summer. I took my best gf Morgan with me and we spent a week sightseeing, eating, drinking wine, meeting new friends...and drinking LOTS of wine!
Things to see and do: We did all the main touristy stuff: The Louvre, The catacombs, Sacre-Couer, Notre Dame, Arc Du Triomphe, the museum of chocolate, etc. There are definitely plenty of tourist things to see. However, my favorite thing to do is to just take a walk with no actual destination. In that sense, Paris did not disappoint! There is so much beauty in the city! The statues, the architecture, the history. It was wonderful. As americans, I would always hear about how rude Parisians are...not entirely true. Most people were quite friendly actually. The waiters, shopkeepers and bartenders were wonderful and very accommodating. The men in general are a little overzealous! Never in my life have I had people stop traffic and hang out of their car to try to get my attention LOL! The women were mostly friendly however, many Parisian women have mastered "bitch face" like I've never seen. You would think they would be more confident...Oh well.
Here is the downside of visiting Paris in the summertime: NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! Our hotel had moderately working AC but none of the restaurants, shops or any public places seem to have it. It was over 90 degrees the whole time we were there so that was very unpleasant for my spoiled ass. And to top it off, the French don't seem to be into deoderant. With the heat like that and the crowds of people it got very stinky. I'm not a fan of stinky! So either bring body spray and piss everyone off by spraying it everywhere (like me) or visit in the fall/winter.
Anyway, let me know if you have any questions! Planning a few more trips for next year if not sooner
